When we first viewed the barn, our estate agent told us that Bradworthy had everything you would ever need, so much so we would never have to leave. After spending a bit in time in Bradworthy – we don’t live there full-time, so my views are still very much as the tourist - I wouldn’t exactly agree to that extent, however for a small village it does pack a punch.
Here's my top 7.
1. Bradworthy has the largest village square in the country (according to Wikipedia) – which makes parking really easy
2. The Bradworthy Inn – A family run, very friendly pub with beer garden. They have an extensive selection of real ales, lager and cider. Luckily for us they also welcome animals; including slightly naughty puppy’s. For kids, or those who are young at heart, the Bradworthy Inn has a pool table, jukebox, skittle alley and dart board.
3. Coffee Shop @ The Bradworthy Inn - open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am, offering a selection of teas, coffees, homemade cakes, buns, cream teas, full English breakfast, bacon baps, and baguettes.
4. Kerry’s Traditional Butchers – Fantastic local butchers, owned by Kerry herself, who makes all the shops sausages. As well as covering all your meat needs, Kerry’s Butchers also stocks homemade sauces, pickles, curds and cakes.
5. Village Shop – Costcutter, which stocks all the essentials, along with some nice local goods – my personal favourites are the scones. Open 8am-9pm.
6. Post Office – Bradworthy post office is part of the Costcutter
7. Martin & Co Hardware Store – Not necessarily needed for a holiday maker, however this store has everything you would ever need and more, so definitely worth a mention.
